Our Christmas Letter

Dear Family and Friends,

It truly is a wonderful life! This year our family has participated in a family reunion on the Washington Coast, gone to Education week at BYU, camped at Chelan over Memorial Day Weekend, and visited with family and friends in Utah and Washington. Also, Jeremy and Christy went on a youth Trek as a Pa and Ma to 11 youth and traveled to Chelan and Florida for weekend getaways!

Jeremy continues to work for FSX, traveling to places like Martha’s Vineyard, New York, LA and Chicago. FSX has seen tremendous growth and Jeremy loves the people he works with. Jeremy spent over a year as Young Men’s President and has a special love for the young men in our ward. A week ago, that changed. Jeremy is now in our ward’s Bishopric and looks forward to this new adventure. The fishing was less exciting than last year but Jeremy still caught three delicious Silvers from the waters of the Northwest. We celebrated Jeremy’s 40th birthday with a big party of friends and family.

Christy continues to home school all four children and loves it. In our ward, she taught Nicole’s primary class on Sunday and helped out with Nicole’s Activity Day’s group every other week but she too had a change in adventures. A couple months ago she began working in our Stake Relief Society Presidency. She is so happy to work with the amazing women in that presidency and in our Stake. Christy is working to publish her fantasy novel while continuing to write book two. She has been doing more watercolor painting instead of oil and really enjoys the challenge.

Lindsey (15) continues to love music of all kinds. She loves playing the piano and now, along with being able to play by ear is reading notes very well! In school Lindsey continues to learn about WWII, the Founding Fathers, especially George Washington, and Law. She enjoys drawing fantasy moonscapes, caring for her frog Saqqara, spends her extra time singing to new music and also enjoys Facebook. Lindsey attends early morning seminary, looks forward to monthly church dances and social activities from Mount Vernon to Duvall! We love the music and vitality Lindsey brings into our family.

Arielle (13) continues to love and draw amazing animals. In September she began horseback riding lessons and is a natural. She brushes, cleans, lunges, saddles, and rides huge beautiful horses. Arielle is the Beehive President at church. A neighbor hired Arielle to care for her large friendly Boxer named Bo, three to four happy days a week. Arielle always loved Greek Mythology and this year got her hands on the Lightening Thief series, reading it in 2 months! In school she is reading Age of Fable, pieces of the Iliad and the Odyssey as well as books about Norse Mythology. Arielle brings sunshine to our family.

Nicole (10) continues to find and tame wild critters. This year she spent hours wrapped in warm clothes patiently sitting on our deck until little birds and squirrels felt safe with her. Now little Chickadees and squirrels eat seeds and peanuts from her hands and play on her lap. She wears leather gloves with the squirrels of course! Incredibly, Nicole also has Hummingbirds eat from their feeder while perched on her fingers! She caught with her hands, played with and released a Northern Pygmy Owl! She is progressing in piano and created a science lab this year. Nicole adds enthusiasm for life to our family.

Joseph (6) continues to be all boy. Joseph came into Christy’s room the other day and said, “I don’t think the fairies are happy with me.” Christy asked, “Have you been pestering your sisters?” He looked at her soberly and said, “Yup.” He loves playing light sabers and said earlier this year, “I’m the ultimate Luke; I never get hurt.” We were waiting for an oil change and of course Joseph brought his light saber. He told a man, “I’ve got moves!” The man laughed until Joseph showed him his moves and was actually impressed. He is learning to read and doing very well. Joseph brings a happy contentment to our family.
